— Anaïs Nin
I watched the movie Delta of Venus the other day. Its adapted from one of my favorite books. It reminded me of the beautiful complexity of life.
In my need for sweetness I had too much sugar. In my need for a challenge, I had too much pain. I didn't realize that the richness is defined by a shadow of loss.
Then I watched this movie. Some Anais Nin quotes for you; she 'gave female desire its own language.'
"Do not seek the because - in love there is no because, no reason, no explanation, no solutions."
"I must be a mermaid, Rango. I have no fear of depths and a great fear of shallow living."
"I hate men who are afraid of women's strength."
"Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death."
