Update on Corruption

Good news! An Indian organization has issued millions of "zero rupee notes" in an attempt to discourage corruption. It is an ingrained part of the culture there to give and take bribes for routine things such as getting licenses. This costs India millions of dollars each year. The idea behind the zero rupee note is that it is a polite way to discourage those asking for bribes. Mexico may start a similar program soon.

India also had a recent strike against taxis, to discourage exorbitant rates.

If any of you read my my March 7th post on corruption, you know how happy this makes me!
